WELCOME TO LEXINGTON

A move can be a traumatic experience for a family.  Leaving friends, a comfortable neighborhood and familiar surroundings can certainly create tensions.

It is my job at The Realty Shoppe to make this transaction as pleasant as possible.  I would like to take this opportunity to get to know you and you, me.  We will work together in search of “the perfect home” for your family.  It is quite improbable that I will find every detail as if it were custom built for you.  However, with the information gathered as we spend time together, we should be able to come very close.

I consider it my job to help you become comfortable with your new hometown.  Don’t hesitate to ask my assistance in areas other than real estate.  Lexington is a wonderful small town with much to offer.  I feel you will grow to love it as I do.

AREA ATTRACTIONS

Whether on a business trip, a shopping spree, or a leisurely summer drive through the South, visitors to Lexington find plenty to keep them entertained.

Water enthusiasts enjoy any one of the seven lakes in Henderson County .  These seven lakes provide 3,000 acres of surface area and 100 miles of shoreline for recreational activities.  BEECH, PINE, CEDAR, REDBUD, DOGWOOD, and SYCAMORE LAKES are open to the public and provide facilities for public use and enjoyment.  Facilities vary from a launching ramp and parking area at Redbud Lake to a concession-bathhouse building, sand beach, concrete launching ramp, paved parking, picnic tables, playground equipment, and family camping facilities at Beech lake.  PIN OAK LAKE and adjacent property have been transferred to the State of Tennessee for use as part of Natchez Trace State Park .

While heading westward, early Tennessee settlers came upon what is now 48,000 acres of the most popular hunting and outdoors recreation land in the state.  NATCHEZ TRACE STATE PARK is a recreational paradise with something fun for everyone.  Nestled within the Park lies one of the more popular destinations for visitors, PIN OAK LODGE, a state managed inn and meeting facility overlooking Pin Oak Lake .

Fishing enthusiasts can look forward to a day of rod-bending excitement on PICKWICK LAKE, a 52-mile impoundment famous for its bass, sauger, catfish, and crappie.  Outstanding angling can also be found at KENTUCKY LAKE , the second largest man-made lake in the world.  The lake is located on the grounds of PARIS LANDING STATE PARK , which also offers golf, tennis, and swimming.

Adults and children seem to find something of interest at a nearby Civil War battlefield.  During a tour of SHILOH NATIONAL MILITARY PARK, visitors get a first-hand look at relics recovered from the historic Shiloh battlefield, as well as a tour of the battlefield itself.

Winter visitors to REELFOOT LAKE STATE RESORT PARK brave the 18,725-acre lake’s chilly temperatures for a rare glimpse of golden and American bald eagles.  Reelfoot is one of the country’s only winter nesting grounds for these majestic birds, as well as countless species of wading birds.

For nature and hiking enthusiasts, you can travel East, just across the Tennessee river , and enjoy MOUSETAIL STATE PARK .  Hiking trails bring you atop Lady’s Bluff overlook offering a breathtaking view of the river.  There are lots of recreational activities, a camping ground along the river’s edge, pavilions for family gatherings.

Continue East to Hohenwald , TN , and enter the NATCHEZ TRACE PARKWAY .  You can relive what our pioneers felt as they blazed this trail from Natchez , Mississippi , to Nashville , Tennessee .  The Trace offers great hiking trails, spectacular waterfalls, and tremendous overlooks.  It’s a true Tennessee treasure.
